Anastasia Brow Wiz Eyebrow Pencil in Medium Ash | practicing pretty

When I started getting into makeup, my eyebrows were one of the last things I attended to. I’m not sure why I waited so long, because now even on days where I only wear a very small amount of makeup, filling in my eyebrows is something I make sure to do. I have horrible eyebrows – they basically stop growing neatly about three-quarters out for the centre, and the outer ends are a messy explosion of hairs that grow everywhere BUT where they should, so I pluck them out – this leaves me with tidied up ‘too-short brows’ that look so much better when I use an eyebrow pencil. Drawing in the ends of my brows changes how my whole face looks – I even think my eyebrows are more expressive, because you can actually see when I move the ends of them around! Haha. Even so, I think my brows are a far cry from ‘perfect’, but that’s alright with me.

The Anastasia Brow Wiz brow pencil is a good product for drawing in eyebrows – I don’t know that it would be a great for someone wanting to really block in colour to create the perfect shape, but for someone like me who isn’t after perfect brows (just improved brows!), the very thin pencil + spoolie combo works really well.

I’ve been using the shade ‘Medium Ash’, which is a good match for me – I have medium brown hair and only slightly darker eyebrows, and while I think a lot of people might choose a slightly darker brow pencil, I like that this colour looks really natural and doesn’t make my eyebrows look too made up. The pencil is double ended – one end has a very slender and stiff twist up pencil that is perfect for drawing thin, precise lines.

The other end is a great spoolie – brushing through your eyebrows after using the pencil evens out the colour really nicely.

A small swatch of medium ash (it’s not a mole, I swear!) – I would call it a medium-dark neutral toned brown.

So there you have it! I think the Anastasia Brow Pencils are really popular, so tell me, have you tried them? What did you think? : )
