5 Fresh, Fun Eye Makeup Looks for Spring – Her Caribbean

Fresh, Fun Eye MakeupSpring is the season of new beginnings, and there is no better way to celebrate than with a new makeup look! The face is typically kept simple, and the eyes are the focus of most spring makeup trends.

1)1960′s Makeup

Vintage glamour is back in a big way, and the most iconic look of the swinging sixties is the perfectly executed cat eye. Use black liquid eyeliner to draw a line along your upper eyelashes. Begin with a thin line at the inner corners of your eyes, and gradually make the line thicker as you approach the outer corners. Extend the line slightly past the ends of your eyes, up and outward toward your hairline in a small wing. If you have trouble keeping your eyeliner brush straight, line up a business card connecting the outer corner of your eye with the end of your eyebrow and use it as a ruler to draw your line. Finish your look with a set of wispy false eyelashes and a nude lipstick.

2) Navy Smokey Eyes

Smokey eyes are the quintessential sexy eye makeup look. Typically done in blacks and grays, why not spice up this classic style with an unexpected color? Navy blue lends a novel twist, while maintaining the sultry tenor of the look. For daytime, smudge a navy blue eye pencil along your upper and lower eyelash lines. For evening drama, sweep a navy eye shadow up toward your eyebrows and underneath your eyes.

3) Strong Eyebrows

Thick, dark eyebrows make a face look younger. Luckily, those of us who aren’t blessed with naturally bushy brows can easily fake it with an eyebrow pencil! To avoid looking like you’ve drawn yours on with a magic marker, select a pencil that is a shade or two lighter than your natural eyebrow hairs. Trace a line along the bottom of your brow, and then use an eyebrow brush or clean mascara brush to sweep the color upward and blend it with your natural hair.

4) Pastel Colors If you want to evoke springtime effervescence, pastels are the colors of fresh blossoms and perfect for a sexy eye shadow look. With pastels, simplicity is important, so stick with one color and sweep it all the way up to your eyebrows. Add a coat of mascara and a shimmery pink lip gloss for a fresh, flushed look.

5) Metallic Eye Shadow Only for the bold, metallic eye shadow makes a conspicuous statement. If you’re daring, dip your eye shadow brush in a metallic shade and spray it with water before patting it on your eyelid. The water brings out the pigmentation of the eye shadow and helps the powder adhere to your skin. If you’re looking for less drama, use an eye liner brush and dab the shadow along your top eyelash line and into the corners of your eyes.

Whether on the runway or running errands, spring is the time to emerge from your winter beauty hibernation and experiment with exciting new colors and products.
