When it comes to my eyebrows, I'm kind of a snob. I firmly believe that eyebrows are what frames a person's face, and that the wrong shape or size or color eyebrows can totally ruin a face.
That being said, I've gotten my eyebrows threaded for the past.. almost 10 years now. Leaving my brows up to a professional means I haven't really had to deal with any zealous over-plucking or unsightly gaps in my brows.
So I haven't really found any need for an eyebrow pencil in my life at all, and most of the ones I'd tried or have had used on me have been a completely wrong color. My eyebrows are quite light in color, and really taupe-y in color. No red what-so-ever, so even a hint of warmth in an eyebrow pencil means clownish eyebrows. This happened to one of my friends in high school who lost (completely plucked) both her eyebrows, I think it was an eyeliner but it was completely orange and total social suicide. She went by the name 'bye-brows' for months until they finally started growing back in.
Needless to say, I've kind of had a fear of eyebrow pencils and luckily was able to live without one. That is, until now.
This week when I went to get my eyebrows threaded, my absolute favorite threader-lady was surreptitiously absent and I had to put my brows (and trust) into the ice cold hands of the new girl who left a small gap in my brows somehow. Something that I never had before.
Anyway, when I got home I searched through my complete mountain of beauty products and came across the ybf eyebrow pencil. I knew this was my chance to put it to the test.
As you may have gathered by the title, I fell in love almost immediately. It's really easy to use, even for me --and I'm not a pro at all when it comes to filling in eyebrows obvi.
The pencil has 2 ends, one is the pencil end which is a nice tuape brown color that is supposed to work for any eyebrow color depending on how lightly or heavily you apply. I used it quite gently and the color was perfect. On the other end is a spoolie brush, which is perfect for brushing your eyebrows inline before, and blending out the pencil after using it. I kind of loved that it came with a spoolie, I always keep one in my makeup bag but having one attached to my eyebrow pencil is totally convenient. Plus the pencil is an automatic, twist up one so you never have to worry about sharpening.
So if you're looking for the perfect eyebrow pencil, or one that's not too orange, I would definitely give the ybf a shot. I'm in love, and I kind of want to use it on all my friends, too -just to show them how great it is!
